Due to the severe spread of the COVID-19 epidemic around the world, the 32nd Summer Olympics, originally scheduled to be held in Tokyo, Japan in 2020, was postponed to July 23, 2021, becoming the first postponed Olympic Games in history.

Japan has made great efforts to successfully host the 2020 Tokyo Olympics during the pandemic. Pandemic prevention and control during the competition was a very important challenge, and FaceSec Japan and its partners have jointly tackled this challenge.

The FaceSec biometric terminal is equipped with a zero-contact high-precision temperature measurement system that meets ASTM specifications, providing the main venue of the Olympic Games with a one-stop cloud health management solution for temperature detection of participants, real-time on-site measures and remote management of people with abnormal body temperatures.

The deployment was quick, simple, and convenient. The most advanced product technology solutions were used to realize reliable, efficient and stable on-site automated intelligent health management with the least human input.

It was an honor for FaceSec to be able to provide its strength to support the first Olympic Games held during a pandemic.   It was also a laudable moment in human history that AI technology was successfully used in large-scale events during an epidemic.
